It is with great excitement that we announce that the Vancouver Inline Hockey League has been acquired by the non-profit organization, The Active Community (TAC). Today’s announcement, proudly released by the leadership of both organizations, is significant and positive development for the Vancouver community.

The Active Community (TAC) is a group dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for individuals of all ages. TAC’s mission is to promote health and mental wellbeing through awareness and engagement with the local community. TAC aspires to operate various high-quality sport and fitness opportunities to fulfill that mandate for the community.

The Vancouver Inline Hockey League has been a popular and successful organization in the city for many years. The league is known for its competitive games and skilled players, and it has attracted a loyal following among fans and participants of the sport.

The acquisition of the Vancouver Inline Hockey League by The Active Community is a significant development in the community. TAC’s volunteer-led Board of Directors will oversee the strategic direction of the VIHL, ensuring a high-quality sporting experience. “We believe that you, the participants, are at the heart of what makes this sport, and our league, amazing. We want more of your involvement and feedback to continue to grow and elevate our amazing sport. This new operating structure will create a truly community driven focus for VIHL,” says Dave Sehn, Treasurer for TAC.

To enable this journey, and as part of this announcement, TAC is announcing the following changes to the leadership team. Please join us in congratulating Owen Taillefer, who has been appointed the new League Manager of VIHL. Owen will be overseeing the operation of the league and enabling and elevating a quality sport experience for the VIHL. Bryan Panchuk will be stepping away from managing the day-to-day to focus on managing The Active Community as its new Executive Director. "I’m thrilled to see the creation of the Vancouver Inline Hockey League and The Active Community family," said Bryan Panchuk, Executive Director of The Active Community. "Inline hockey is a great way to stay active and have fun, and we look forward to growing this exciting sport with our community and to opening up new opportunities to fulfill our organizational mission empowered through sport."

The Vancouver Inline Hockey League will continue to operate under its current name and with its new strengthened leadership. "We are excited about the future of the Vancouver Inline Hockey League under the leadership of The Active Community," said Danison Buan, President of The Active Community. "We believe that this acquisition will bring new opportunities and resources to our organization, and we look forward to continuing to provide exciting inline hockey games to all our participants."
