All Star Saturday 2008

Just a reminder to everyone about the allstar games this Saturday from 12:45-8:45 at Karen Magnussen Arena in North Vancouver. Anyone can come out as there will also be a bbq outside the arena doors.


The following is the approximate timing of the events...


Iron/Brass II All Star Game 12:45pm
Brass I All Star Game 1:35pm

Iron/Brass/Copper Skills Competition 2:25pm-3:55pm

Copper All Star Game 3:55pm
Bronze All Star Game 4:45pm

Bronze/Silver/Gold Skills Competition 5:35-7:05pm

Silver All Star Game 7:05pm
Gold/Platinum All Star Game 7:55pm


We are still looking for some volunteers as well, so let us know if you are free and would like to help out as the more helpers there are, the easier it will be for everyone involved...

Here are some of the positions we need help with:

Scorekeeping
Refs
Skills Comp Stats
Announcer
Registration Table
BBQ
Skills Competition Helpers

Refs will get paid $15 per game (you need to be a certified referee) and Scorekeepers will get paid $10 per game and the skills comp stats person and announcer will each get paid $15 per skills comp. The rest of the helpers will be rewarded with free drinks and free Hotdogs/hamburgers.


Finally, there will be an after party at the Bridge Between Pub (formerly the Maplewood Pub at 1970 Spicer Rd-close to the second narrows bridge). Everyone is welcome to attend. Feel free to invite your girlfriends/boyfriends as well. We have the upstairs reserved from 9pm-11pm and then they just open it up to the public after 11pm. There will be some free appy's provided and if you didn't get enough food at the barbeque, there will be Beef Burger and fries deal (with cheese,lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles) for $8.00. Some drink specials as well...

I will also be buying some pitchers of beer and pop on behalf of the league.



Hope to see a lot of you out on Saturday and if players on your team still haven't responded back about attending the allstar game and skills competition, please do so by 7pm Friday night as rosters will be made up at this point...
